Former Reading defender Emma Mukandi has joined London City Lionesses on a two-year deal.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this afternoon.
Mukandi joins London City Lionesses after leaving Reading at the end of last season following their relegation from the Barclays Women’s Super League. The Scotland international spent three seasons with The Royals and captained the side.
The defender follows former Reading teammate Grace Moloney to London City Lionesses. The pair will be hoping to help the Dartford-based club to challenge for promotion this season.
After joining London City Lionesses, Mukandi said “It’s been good so far, with positive training sessions, quality facilities, and a great group of girls.
“After speaking with the coaches and hearing about their project for the team, I felt like it was a good opportunity to still be playing professionally. It’s an opportunity to try and win promotion to the Women’s Super League and I really like the sound of that.
“It’s nice to join a team where I’m already familiar with some of the players in the squad, so it’s been a great start.”
Mukandi becomes London City Lionesses’ 10th signing of the summer transfer window.
