Birmingham City have completed the signing of former Manchester United midfielder Jade Moore on a free transfer.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blues this afternoon.

Moore has signed a one-year deal at St Andrew’s after being released by former club Manchester United at the end of last season. The midfielder spent 18 months with The Red Devils but struggled for game time at the Leigh Sports Village and she was sent out on loan to Reading in the second half of last season.

The 32-year-old returns to Birmingham City for a second spell. She previously turned out for the club between 2011 and 2015. She was a Vitality Women’s FA Cup winner with the Blues in 2012.

After signing on with Birmingham City, Moore said “It’s crazy, it’s like I’ve never been away actually. I’m really happy to be here and can’t wait for the season to start this weekend and be back on the grass.

“Given last year’s success here, I had a spell at the bottom end of the WSL last season at Reading on loan, so given that experience, I needed a change and competing at the top of the Championship was a big pull for me.”

Moore becomes Birmingham City head coach Darren Carter’s eighth signing of the summer transfer window.
