Reading and Charlton Athletic will both be hoping to chalk up their first win of the new Barclays Women’s Championship season when they meet at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Saturday evening.

Both clubs were made to settle for 1-1 draws on the opening day after being pegged back by their respective opponents. Reading were held by Crystal Palace at the VBS Community Stadium while Charlton Athletic played out a home draw with Sheffield United at The Valley.

Reading manager Liam Gilbert continues to be without the services of midfielder Ava Kuyken who is in the early stages of her rehabilitation after sustaining a recent Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury. The availability of goalkeeper Jackie Burns and forward Charlie Wellings is not known.

Charlton Athletic remain without Tegan McGowan, Hannah Godfrey and Ella Rutherford through long-term injury. Defender Godfrey is the closest to making a return to action. Summer signing Karin Muya is pushing for her first start after impressing for The Addicks as a substitute against Sheffield United last weekend.

The Barclays Women’s Championship fixture between Reading and Charlton Athletic kicks-off at 5.15pm on Saturday evening. Tickets for the match are on-sale now and can be purchased by clicking here.
