Sheffield United’s teenage forward Tamara Wilcock has signed a new contract with the club, keeping her at Bramall Lane this season.

The Blades announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Wilcock came through the Sheffield United academy system and she has gone on to feature for the senior team over the last three seasons. The 19-year-old has made 16 appearances for The Blades in the Barclays Women’s Championship while she scored her first goal in a 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers in January.

The player is one of Sheffield United’s brightest young talents and she will continue her development under the guidance of manager Jonathan Morgan this season.

After signing on again with The Blades, Wilcock said “I’m really excited. It’s a new season, a fresh start and I’m ready to go. Scoring my first goal on my first start was amazing, it was a surreal experience and hopefully, I’ll be looking to get a few more this season!”

Wilcock has not been involved for Sheffield United in either of their opening two fixtures this season but she will be hoping to now play a part after signing on again with the club. The Blades travel to Ewood Park on Sunday to face Blackburn Rovers in their next match.
