Aston Villa’s teenage forward Georgia Mullett has signed her first professional contract with the club.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Villans this morning.

Mullett has come through the Aston Villa youth ranks and the player found herself on the fringes of the first team last season. The teenager made three senior appearances for The Villans last season; two in the Barclays Women’s Super League and one in the Women’s FA Cup.

Most of Mullett’s outings last season came in the WSL Academy League. The player scored 19 goals in 19 league games for Aston Villa, only Durham’s Poppy Pritchard ended the campaign with a higher goal tally.

Mullett will now continue her development with Aston Villa after signing a professional deal.

Commenting on this morning’s news, Aston Villa head coach Carla Ward said “Georgia has showed a huge amount of potential and progression over the last 12 months and has continued to show her promise in a really competitive first team.

“She’s one of our own and a big part of our plan.

“We’re delighted she’s put pen-to-paper to continue her development with Aston Villa.”

Mullett is the fourth Aston Villa player to sign a new contract with the club this summer.
