Manchester United will be looking to continue their winning start to the new Barclays Women’s Super League season when they face title rivals Arsenal at the Leigh Sports Village on Friday night.

The Red Devils came from a goal down to record a 2-1 win at Aston Villa on opening day. Meanwhile, this weekend’s opponents Arsenal suffered a disastrous start. They failed to shine as they crashed to a shock 1-0 home defeat to Liverpool in front of an all-time Barclays Women’s Super League record crowd of 54,115 at the Emirates Stadium.

Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner has no fresh injuries to contend with ahead of the second round of matches. Defender Aoife Mannion is still a few weeks away from fitness while youngster Emma Watson has been ruled out for the season.

Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall has confirmed that forward Beth Mead is not quite ready to return following at Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury. Vivianne Miedema, Leah Williamson, Laura Wienroither and Teyah Goldie all remain sidelined for the longer-term. There is some good news with defender Noelle Maritz back to fitness and being available for selection.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Manchester United and Arsenal kicks-off at 7.30pm on Friday night. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
