Manchester City and Chelsea will be looking to build on their winning starts to the new Barclays Women’s Super League season when they meet at The Joie Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Cityzens won 2-0 at West Ham United on opening day while Chelsea defeated London rivals Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester City head coach Gareth Taylor has no new injury concerns to contend with ahead of his side’s first home fixture of the 2023/2024 season. Full-back Demi Stokes remains sidelined with her injury while last season’s top scorer Khadija Shaw is back in training and is set to be available for selection.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes continues to be without long-term absentee Kateřina Svitková and summer signing Catarina Macario for her side’s trip to the North West. The Blues boss has confirmed that forward Sam Kerr is available for selection while Fran Kirby will be assessed ahead of the match to determine her level of involvement. Kirby played 31 minutes of the second half against Spurs last weekend as she stepped up her comeback from a knee injury.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Manchester City and Chelsea kicks-off at 12.30pm on Sunday afternoon. The game has been declared a sell-out with no further tickets expected to be made available.
