Spurs agree signing of Chinese international forward Shuang Wang

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to sign Chinese international forward Shuang Wang ahead of the January transfer window.

The Lilywhites announced the news via a post on their official club website this morning.

Wang will officially become a Spurs player when the transfer window opens on 1 January 2024. She has signed a contract with the North Londoners until summer 2026.

The forward is Chinese national team legend. She has made 123 appearances for the nation while she has scored 46 goals. The player has been named Chinese Women’s Footballer of the Year on four occasions while she was the AFC Women’s Player of the Year in 2018. Wang has featured for China at the last three FIFA Women’s World Cups and scored against England in the latest tournament in Australia and New Zealand.

At club level, Wang has enjoyed several spells with Wuhan Jianghan University while she has also turned out for Daejeon Sportstoto, Dalian Quanjian, Paris Saint-Germain and Racing Louisville.

Wang will bolster an impressive Spurs frontline which already contains the likes of Beth England and Martha Thomas. Head coach Robert Vilahamn is committed to implementing an exciting brand of attacking football at Spurs and Wang is another player that will contribute to his footballing philosophy in the coming years.
