Everton have completed the signing of Danish international attacker Rikke Madsen on an 18-month deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Everton this morning.

Madsen joins Everton following a spell playing her football in the American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) with North Carolina Courage. She spent some of the 2022/2023 season on loan at Australian club Melbourne Victory. The player will now get her first taste of English football in the Barclays Women’s Super League with Everton.

After joining The Blue Girls, Madsen said “I’m so happy to be here. I’ve been eager to get to this club and to play in this league. I cannot wait to get started.

“I want to develop and become the best player I can be. I can’t wait to play in the Women’s Super League. I’ve heard so many good things about it.

“Some of my strengths is my physicality and running fast. It’s going to be fun to put that to good use here.

“I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Club. It’s a really good environment, good teammates and the organisation as a whole.

“I just wanted to be a part of that.”

Madsen becomes Everton manager Brian Sørensen’s second signing of the January transfer window.
