Lewes have completed the signing of London City Lionesses defender Lois Heuchan ahead of the second half of the season.

The Rooks announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website earlier this afternoon.

Heuchan is an experienced player at Barclays Women’s Championship level. The Scottish full-back is in her fifth season playing at that level after previously spending time with Charlton Athletic and London City Lionesses. Heuchan has made 60 appearances in English football’s second tier in which she has scored eight goals. Her arrival at Lewes adds to the experience in head coach Scott Booth’s squad.

After signing Heuchan, Booth said “With Lois, she gives us a real balance at the back because she’s a natural left-sided player.

“It’s very difficult to find a good left-back, with a bit of experience again, so that’s key for us in the second part of the season.”

Heuchan becomes Lewes boss Booth’s fifth signing of the January transfer window following the recent arrivals of Jacqui Hand, Lois Roche, Hannah Godfrey and Aimee Claypole. The full-back could be in-line to make her Lewes debut on Sunday when Durham provide the opposition at The Dripping Pan in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
