Bristol City have completed the signing of Canadian international midfielder Sarah Stratigakis on an 18-month deal.

The Robins announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this evening.

Stratigakis joins Bristol City after most recently playing her football in Sweden with Vittsjö GIK. She spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons with the Damallsvenskan side, making more than 50 league appearances. Prior to her time in Sweden, Stratigakis played in her native Canada. After graduating from the college system, the player started out with Aurora FC before joining Oakville Blue Devils FC.

On the international stage, Stratigakis has been capped by Canada on five occasions. She has been out of the picture for her country for the past year but she will be hoping that her move to Bristol City catches the eye of national team boss Bev Priestman.

After sealing her move to Bristol City, Stratigakis said “I’m extremely excited to be here and I’m grateful for the opportunity. I can’t wait to get going.

“Ashton Gate is an amazing stadium and I’m looking forward to getting out in front of the Bristol City fans.”

Stratigakis becomes Bristol City head coach Lauren Smith’s second signing of the January transfer window.
