Birmingham City have re-signed their former defender Rebecca Holloway on an 18-month deal with the option of a further year.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the Blues this evening.
Holloway initially represented Birmingham City between 2019 and 2022. She made 65 appearances for the club in all competitions.
In 2022, the defender joined National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Racing Louisville. Holloway made 15 appearances for the American club in the NWSL but it is now time for her to return to the UK.
After re-joining Birmingham City, Holloway said “It feels good to be back. To be honest, it feels like I’ve never been away, but I know a lot has changed and obviously, I’m excited to get going.
“Now coming back, I want to help the team as much as possible getting back into the WSL. They have already done so well this season and it’s just now how can I come in and help.
“I knew for me it was important to be part of a healthy, competitive environment and just feel valued. That was a big part in me wanting to come back.”
Holloway becomes Birmingham City head coach Darren Carter’s first signing of the January transfer window.
