Chelsea will have the opportunity to confirm their place in the quarter-finals of this season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League when they face Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge this evening.

The Blues are currently top of their group with two rounds of matches left to play. With second-placed side BK Häcken set to face third-placed Paris FC, Chelsea could secure their place in the last-eight with a game to spare.

Chelsea are without the services of star forward Sam Kerr for the rest of this season’s European campaign while there is no timeframe for captain Millie Bright’s return from injury. Long-term absentees Aniek Nouwen, Kateřina Svitková and Catarina Macario are all still out. Midfielder Jessie Fleming also won’t be in the squad with the player set to leave the club this month.

Real Madrid arrive at Stamford Bridge having collected just a point from their four group matches. With the Spaniards already eliminated, head coach Alberto Toril could make changes to his side. The Whites are without a handful of players including Rocío Gálvez, Olga Carmona, Sandie Toletti and Signe Brunn.

The UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage fixture between Chelsea and Real Madrid is scheduled to kick-off at 8pm this evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
