Manchester City have completed the signing of defender Tara O’Hanlon from SSE Airtricity League of Ireland Women’s Premier Division club Peamount United.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the deal via an official club press release from The Cityzens this evening.

It has been reported that O’Hanlon has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Manchester City.

O’Hanlon spent some of her youth with Bohemians before joining latest club Peamount United in 2021. The defender has gone on to represent The Peas on 35 occasions in the SSE Airtricity League of Ireland Women’s Premier Division while she has scored four goals.

On the international stage, O’Hanlon has made two appearances for the Republic of Ireland at senior level. She made her senior international debut for The Girls In Green in the first half of last season.

After joining Manchester City, O’Hanlon said “City’s playing style was a big consideration when choosing which Club to go to. I really liked the team’s style of play and I think this is the best place for me to learn as much as I can and develop as a player.

“I’m buzzing to get started and I can’t wait to see everyone in the Joie Stadium.”

O’Hanlon is Manchester City’s second signing of the January transfer window.
