Manchester City head coach Gareth Taylor has signed a new three-year contract with the club.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Cityzens this afternoon.

Taylor was set to be out of contract in June but he will now remain with Manchester City until summer 2027.

The 51-year-old was appointed Manchester City head coach in 2020. He has won the Adobe Women’s FA Cup and FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup with the club to date. Manchester City are still in the hunt for the domestic treble this season. Taylor has won 97 of his 131 matches in charge of Manchester City in all competitions.

After signing his new deal, Taylor said “I’m very happy to be able to commit to City for another three seasons. I think what we’re doing here and trying to achieve is a build and a long-term project of sustainability and success.

“Our ambition was always to be right at the top and we’ve done that. It’s taken a lot of hard work from a lot of people behind-the-scenes. The players have really bought in to what we’re trying to do and achieve.”

Manchester City continue their season with a FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup semi-final against Chelsea at The Joie Stadium on Thursday evening.
