Leicester City assistant coach Jennifer Foster says that her side will be aiming to put things right against Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend.

The Foxes suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend as they lost ground on the Barclays Women’s Super League’s top six.

When speaking to the media ahead of Sunday’s fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion, Leicester City’s assistant boss Foster said that the game offers the opportunity to put things right.

“Every game is important to us,” Foster said. “We definitely saw Sunday as a missed opportunity and we are looking to put things right this weekend.

“Our ambitions in the league and in the FA Cup are still exactly the same and that’s where our preparation is. Every game is important to us, we go out every game to get maximum points.”

Going on to discuss the challenge of Brighton & Hove Albion, Foster sees similarities in how The Seagulls play compared to last weekend’s opponents Spurs.

She said “They play quite similar to Tottenham in many elements. We know the threat that they pose on the transition, so we are expecting that.

“Hopefully, we should be able to have more of the ball and cause more problems. We just need to be prepared for those transition moments.”

The reverse fixture ended 2-2 at Broadfield Stadium back in December. Leicester City were two goals to the good in that game before Brighton & Hove Albion forward Elisabeth Terland netted a late brace. Foster trusts her team to deal with Terland’s threat this weekend.

“I wouldn’t say additional focus but there’s an awareness of her for sure,” Foster said. “We know her qualities but I know the qualities of our players and our defensive backline. We will just be looking to manage her as best as possible, look to use our strengths and limit hers.”
