Former Arsenal goalkeeper Kaylan Marckese has joined American USL Super League club Tampa Bay Sun FC on a free transfer.
News of the deal was confirmed by Tampa Bay Sun this afternoon via a post on their official club X account.
Marckese joins Tampa Bay Sun after leaving former club Arsenal at the end of last season. The 26-year-old American keeper spent two seasons with The Gunners after joining the club from Danish side HB Køge in summer 2022. Marckese largely played the role of understudy during her time in North London with the player’s only appearances coming in the cup competitions.
With minutes being in short supply at Arsenal, Marckese joined Bristol City on a season-long loan deal last season. She made five appearances for The Robins in all competitions before sustaining an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury which brought her season to an early end.
Marckese is now nearing full fitness once again and she will be hoping to make up for lost time at new club Tampa Bay Sun.
The keeper joins Tampa Bay Sun ahead of the club’s debut season in the all-new USL Super League. The competition is scheduled to finally kick-off next month.
