Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of Tanzanian international forward Aisha Masaka.

Masaka joins Brighton & Hove Albion from Swedish top flight club BK Häcken. The Seagulls have paid an undisclosed fee to secure the player’s services.

The 20-year-old forward started her senior career with Tanzanian club Young Africans SC before joining BK Häcken in 2022. Masaka has gone on to score five goals in 14 appearances for the Swedish club in the OBOS Damallsvenskan.

On the international stage, Masaka has been in the Tanzanian senior side for the last three years. She has scored nine goals in 15 outings for the Twiga Stars.

After bringing Masaka to Brighton & Hove Albion, the club’s managing director of women’s and girls’ football, Zoe Johnson said “We’re really excited to welcome Aisha to Brighton. She’s competed at a high level in Sweden as well as representing Hacken in the Champions League.

“She’s a physical striker, who’s dominant on the ball and a natural goalscorer. We’re looking forward to welcoming her to Albion ahead of the new season.”

Masaka becomes Brighton & Hove Albion’s eighth signing of the summer transfer window.
