Charlton Athletic have completed the signing of former Sheffield United full-back Jodie Hutton on a one-year deal.

The Addicks announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Hutton joins Charlton Athletic upon the expiry of her contract at former club Sheffield United. The player spent one season with The Blades in which she made 19 appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Championship, scoring two goals.

The 23-year-old defender is a well-respected player at Barclays Women’s Championship level. She was previously a promotion-winner with both Aston Villa and Bristol City.

After completing her move to Charlton Athletic, Hutton said “I’m buzzing to get started. The club is heading in a great direction and has ambition. They have finished so high in the league the last few seasons.

“The style of play that Karen wants to play is aggressive and front-footed which is exciting. I can’t wait to be a part of a team that has potential to win the league this season.”

Hutton becomes Charlton Athletic’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window. Head coach Karen Hills has also added Gracie Pearse, Katie Bradley and Mel Filis to her first team squad during the close season.
