Manchester United have completed the signing of Swedish international defender Anna Sandberg on a three-year deal with the option of an additional year.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Red Devils this afternoon.
Sandberg joins Manchester United from Swedish side BK Häcken where she has spent the last two years. The 21-year-old has made 46 appearances for BK Häcken in the OBOS Damallsvenskan in which she has scored five goals. Sandberg has gained experience of playing in the UEFA Women’s Champions League in her time with her former club.
On the international stage, Sandberg has made five senior appearances for Sweden after making her debut for the nation last year.
After adding Sandberg to his squad, Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner said “We are delighted to have Anna join our Manchester United family. She is a talented young player, who already has a wealth of international and Champions League experience. We look forward to seeing her develop further in red.”
Sandberg becomes Manchester United’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window following the recent additions of Dominique Janssen, Melvine Malard and Elisabeth Terland. The Red Devils are expected to make further signings before the start of the new season.
