Bristol City have announced the news that defender Satara Murray has left the club by mutual consent.

The Robins confirmed Murray’s Ashton Gate exit via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

The 31-year-old Jamaican international centre-back has enjoyed two spells with Bristol City. Murray initially joined The Robins in summer 2021 following the club’s relegation from the Barclays Women’s Super League. She made 21 Barclays Women’s Championship appearances for Bristol City in the 2021/2022 season and was a rock at the heart of the team’s defence.

In summer 2022, Murray returned to the American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) where she represented Racing Louisville before re-joining Bristol City 12 months’ later after the club had been promoted to the Barclays Women’s Super League.

Last season was a difficult campaign for Murray on a personal level. The player was heavily hit with injuries, limiting her to just five outings in all competitions. Murray’s services were sorely missed by Bristol City who won just one Barclays Women’s Super League fixture all season.

With Bristol City now preparing for Barclays Women’s Championship football again this season, it has been agreed that Murray will leave the club this summer. She becomes the ninth player to move on since the end of last season.
