Ipswich Town have completed the signing of experienced forward Rianna Dean on a free transfer.

The Tractor Girls announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

The 26-year-old forward joins Ipswich Town after leaving former club Southampton earlier this summer. Dean spent two seasons with The Saints where she proved her fitness after previously suffering a long-term injury. The player netted nine goals in 18 appearances in Barclays WSL2 for Southampton.

Dean was one of the most feared forwards in Barclays WSL2 earlier in her career. Her 14-goal haul for former club Tottenham Hostpur in 2018/2019 helped the club to promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League.

After joining Ipswich Town, Dean said “I am delighted to be at such an ambitious club and I’m really excited to get started.

“I know a few of the girls here already and I’ve heard such good things from them. The club feels really integrated across all areas which is exactly what I want as a player.

“The number nine shirt always comes with pressure but I think that’s a good thing. Hopefully I can live up to it and score a few goals here.”

Dean is Ipswich Town’s second signing of the summer transfer window.
