Liverpool have completed the signing of Chelsea defender Alejandra Bernabé on a permanent deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Reds this evening.

The 23-year-old full-back joined Chelsea from Spanish finetwork Liga F club Atlético Madrid back in 2023. She spent some of the 2023/2024 season on loan at Real Sociedad. Bernabé was then loaned to Liverpool in the second half of last season before an injury brought the player’s campaign to a premature conclusion.

On the international stage, Bernabé has represented Spain at senior level.

After re-joining Liverpool on a permanent basis, Bernabé said “I’m so happy to be here. Last season was amazing, so I was so happy to be back.

“I think here I have the opportunity to be my best. I always try to do that in my life. Here, I feel well with the people, with the club, with my teammates and everything.

“I think it’s so important for [players] to be 100 percent on the pitch, so I try to give that and here I think is the place [for me].”

Bernabé is Liverpool’s third signing on what has been an exceptionally busy Transfer Deadline Day for the Merseyside club.
