Manchester City goalkeeper Khiara Keating has received a late call-up into the England squad.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official media update from The Football Association earlier today.
The 21-year-old stopper has been drafted into the squad by England head coach Sarina Wiegman following Ellie Roebuck’s withdrawal through injury. Roebuck is struggling with a shoulder problem and will receive treatment at Aston Villa.
Keating has received one senior cap to date which came in ‘The Homecoming Series’ as England lost 2-1 to Brazil last autumn. She won UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 with the Lionesses but did not play during the tournament.
England complete their FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027 qualifying campaign next month. The Lionesses will contest a fixture with Spain in Palma on Friday 5 June 2026 before facing Ukraine at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, home of Everton FC, on Tuesday 9 June 2026. England top their group after four rounds of matches and will secure automatic qualification for the tournament should they remain in pole position.
England boss Wiegman’s 25-player squad will report for duty at St George’s Park next week as they prepare for those huge qualifiers. The team will complete some initial training sessions before flying out to Spain for their opening game of the international window.
