Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Dutch international defender Caitlin Dijkstra on a free transfer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Lilywhites earlier today.

Dijkstra will join Spurs when her contract with German Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg expires at the end of next month. She has signed a long-term deal with her new club.

The 27-year-old has spent the last three years with the She-Wolves. Dijkstra was initially loaned back to former club FC Twente where she won a league title.

On the international stage, Dijkstra has been capped by The Netherlands on 35 occasions while she has scored one goal for her country.

After agreeing to join Spurs, Dijkstra said “It feels amazing to join Spurs, I have almost no words for it. I’m a player who wants to achieve all the big things. I’m ready for this, and I’m really happy for the opportunity I have with this Club.”

Dijkstra is Spurs’ second signing of the summer transfer window. The North Londoners have also agreed to sign West Ham United forward Shekiera Martinez so far this summer. Spurs boss Martin Ho recently confirmed that the club have already agreed deals with many of their transfer targets ahead of the summer transfer window.
