Arsenal defender Taylor Hinds has pulled out of the England squad due to an ankle injury.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official media update from The Football Association this afternoon.

It has been reported that the 27-year-old sustained the injury last week and she will not recover in time for the upcoming international window.

England head coach Sarina Wiegman has opted against calling up a replacement for Hinds. The Dutchwoman will continue to work with the remaining 24-players in camp at St George’s Park.

The Lionesses squad has been hit with a handful of injuries over the last week. Goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck was the first player to be ruled out before captain Leah Williamson was unable to report for duty. There are also question marks over goalkeeper Khiara Keating who must follow strict concussion protocols and will miss at least one fixture.

England complete their FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027 qualifying campaign with fixtures against Spain in Palma on Friday and against Ukraine at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, home of Everton FC, next Tuesday. The Lionesses top their group after four rounds of matches and will secure automatic qualification for the tournament should they remain in pole position.
