Aston Villa have completed the signing of highly-rated Rangers forward Mia McAulay.

The Villans announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website just a short time ago.

The 19-year-old Scot, who can operate in either a wide or central attacking role, is a product of the Rangers academy system. She made her debut for the Ibrox club at the age of just 16 and went on to make more than 100 appearances at senior level.

Since signing professional terms in summer 2023, McAulay has helped The Gers to win five major domestic cups while she has also had a taste of UEFA Women’s Champions League football. She has won a number of awards both at club and league level.

On the international stage, McAulay has already been capped by Scotland at senior level. The player has five caps to her name to date.

After bringing McAulay to Aston Villa, the club’s Director of Women’s Football, Marisa Ewers said “Mia is an exciting young attacking player with lots of potential.

“She is part of what we are looking to build at this club in the long term.”

McAulay is Aston Villa’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
