Spurs sign Arsenal midfielder Pelova

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Arsenal midfielder Victoria Pelova on a free transfer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Lilywhites this afternoon.

The 27-year-old joins Spurs upon the expiry of her contract with former club Arsenal. Pelova spent three-and-a-half years with The Gunners in which she won the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup, UEFA Women’s Champions League and two Subway Women’s League Cups. The midfieder made 89 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions in which she scored six goals.

On the international stage, Pelova has been capped by The Netherlands on 71 occasions in which she has scored seven goals.

After signing for Spurs, Pelova said “It feels nice to be here, I had a lovely welcome from everyone. When I had conversations with Martin [Ho], he was so good. It felt immediately right to go to Spurs.

“I can’t wait for the season, and I’m so happy to be here.”

Pelova is Spurs’ fourth signing of the summer transfer window. The North Londoners have also added Shekiera Martinez, Caitlin Dijkstra and Kirsty Hanson to their squad so far this summer. Spurs had agreed most of their transfer deals going into the close season.
