Newcastle United midfielder Lois Joel has signed a new contract with the club.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Magpies this afternoon.

The 27-year-old has spent the last two seasons on Tyneside after joining Newcastle United from London City Lionesses in summer 2024. She will now remain with the club for the 2026/2027 season.

Joel made 15 appearances for Newcastle United in Barclays WSL2 last season, providing one assist and scoring one goal. She was an important member of head coach Tanya Oxtoby’s squad. Joel helped Newcastle United record a sixth-place finish in Barclays WSL2, although the club will hope to perform much better in the upcoming season.

Joel has unfinished business in the North East and Newcastle United have therefore moved to retain her services for an extended period.

After signing on again at Newcastle United, Joel said “I’m over the moon. I really wanted to stay, so I’m excited that we’ve got it done and I can stay part of this really exciting project.

“I think I have grown into myself more and more here. I just feel more at home, I love Newcastle.”

Further Newcastle United squad news will be announced by the club in due course.
