French club OL Lyonnes have completed the signing of Chelsea winger Johanna Rytting Kaneryd on a three-year deal.

OL announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this morning.

The 29-year-old Swedish international leaves Chelsea after spending the last four years with the club. The Blues signed Rytting Kaneryd from Swedish OBOS Damallsvenskan club BK Häcken back in summer 2022. The winger went on to make 139 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions in which she scored 17 goals. Rytting Kaneryd won three Barclays Women’s Super League titles, two Adobe Women’s FA Cups and two Subway Women’s League Cups in her time in South West London.

Rytting Kaneryd has swapped playing for one of the most successful clubs in the women’s game for another. She joins an OL Lyonnes side that won a domestic treble last season. They have dominated the French game for a lenghty period and the club’s next target is to regain the UEFA Women’s Champions League trophy. OL Lyonnes last won European club football’s top prize in 2021/2022.

Rytting Kaneryd’s move to OL sees her play her football in France for the very first time in her career. Prior to her spell at Chelsea, the player previously played her football in her native Sweden.
