Crystal Palace defender Josie Green has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

The Eagles announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

The 33-year-old defender was set to be out of contract at Selhurst Park this summer but she will now remain in South London for at least another 12 months.

Green joined Crystal Palace in the summer 2024 transfer window after leaving former club Leicester City. She was unable to help The Eagles to avoid relegation back to Barclays WSL2 in her first season with the club. Green celebrated promotion back to the top flight in her second year. She made four appearances for Crystal Palace in the first half of last season before missing the second half of the campaign through pregnancy.

After agreeing to extend Green’s stay with Crystal Palace for another year, head coach Jo Potter said “We are very happy to extend Josie’s stay here.

“She’s a popular member of the squad, and her WSL experience will be a real asset to us moving forwards.”

A timeframe for Green’s playing return has not yet been revealed but the player could resume training sometime during the first half of the season.
