West Ham United have completed the signing of former Arsenal defender Niamh Peacock on a three-year deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Hammers this afternoon.

The 18-year-old joins West Ham United after recently leaving Arsenal. Peacock spent a decade progressing through The Gunners’ academy pathway and captained some of the young Arsenal sides. The player never featured for Arsenal at senior level, although she was included in a first team matchday squad.

With Peacock in need of senior experience, she spent time with Watford and Portsmouth last season. She featured for Pompey on seven occasions in Barclays WSL2.

On the international stage, Peacock has turned out for England at various levels up to and including Under-20 level.

After joining West Ham United, Peacock said “I’m delighted to join West Ham United. This is a big Club, with big ambitions and a passionate fanbase. I felt that coming here was the best fit for me at this moment in my career.

“Signing my first professional contract is a proud moment for me and my family. I can’t wait to develop my game and become a better player and person.”

Peacock is West Ham United’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window.
