Aston Villa have completed the signing of Norwegian international defender Mathilde Harviken.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Villans this morning.
The 24-year-old defender joins Aston Villa from Italian Serie A Women Athora club Juventus.
Harviken has spent the last 18-months with the Bianconere, helping them to win a Serie A Women Athora league title, the Coppa Italia and the Serie A Women’s Cup. The player made almost 50 appearances for Juventus in all competitions.
Prior to her spell with Juventus, Harviken played for Elverum, FL Fart, Røa IL and Rosenborg BK, where she won a Norwegian Cup in 2023. The player has already got more than 200 club appearances under her belt.
On the international stage, Harviken has been capped by Norway on 44 occasions while she has scored one goal for her country. She has been a regular in the Norwegian side over the last four years.
After joining Aston Villa, Harviken said “It’s a really good opportunity to join a club with such a big history. There are great facilities here and everything you need to perform and continue developing as a player.”
Harviken is Aston Villa’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window.
