Sheffield United have completed the signing of defender Maria Reynolds on a permanent deal.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blades this afternoon.
The 22-year-old joins Sheffield United from SSE Airtricity League Women’s Premier Division club Shamrock Rovers. It has been reported that The Blades have paid an undisclosed fee to secure the player’s services. Reynolds has signed a two-year deal at Bramall Lane with the option of an additional year.
Reynolds joined Shamrock Rovers from Peamount United in 2020. She impressed within the club’s youth system and went on to appear in the senior team.
On the international stage, Reynolds has represented the Republic of Ireland at various youth levels up to and including Under-19 level.
After joining Sheffield United, Reynolds said “It’s super-exciting. I’m so happy to be here, even just walking in and seeing the stadium, it’s been amazing to see.
“It’s all a range of emotions. I’m super-excited, obviously nervous as well, but I just can’t wait to get started with the girls.
“Joy [Ralph] is one of my best friends from home and she’s been great throughout the process of me coming here and she’s had only positive words to say.”
Reynolds is Sheffield United’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
