Liverpool midfielder Ashley Hodson has signed a new contract with the club according to reports on The Reds’ official website.
The 26-year-old is a product of the club’s youth development programme and she has been playing her football with the first team since 2014.
New Liverpool manager Matt Beard is working hard building his squad for next season and the club today confirmed the news of midfielder Hodson’s new deal. The length of her contract has been left undisclosed by The Reds.
Hodson made 12 appearances for Liverpool in this season’s FA Women’s Championship as the club finished the campaign in third place. She will now be hoping to drive the team on next season.
Upon signing her new deal, Hodson told the club’s official media team “I’m really excited for what’s to come and I can’t wait to get going with the girls again. Obviously I’ve been at the club a long time and I can’t wait to carry on this journey.
“We’ve got a really good group, we’ve got a new manager in Beardy who I’m familiar with and I’m really excited to get going with him again.
“As a club we want to push on. Last year didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to and we’ve taken lessons from that. We want to turn the frustrations of last year into motivation.
“Working with Matt in the past, it was a great experience and I can’t wait for him to come back in. He’ll bring a lot of leadership qualities, he’s a really good manager and I think all the girls who haven’t worked with him before are going to love him.”
Hodson’s deal comes just three days on from fellow midfielder Missy Bo Kearns signing new terms with Liverpool. There are sure to be more new contracts and new arrivals at Prenton Park before the 2021/2022 season begins.
