Arsenal’s Lisa Evans has joined the club’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League rivals West Ham United on a season-long loan according to reports on The Hammers’ official website.
The 29-year-old has spent the last four years with The Gunners, helping the club win the Barclays FA Women’s Super League title and the FA Women’s Continental League Cup. The player also made five appearances for Arsenal in Europe in 2019/2020 as they reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Evans was in and out of the Arsenal side last season and it has today been confirmed that the player will spend the upcoming campaign on loan at West Ham United.
After completing her move to The Chigwell Construction Stadium, Evans said “I’m really looking forward to the season ahead with West Ham United.
“The move came about pretty quickly and when I saw the facilities and met the staff and some of the girls here at the Club, it was an opportunity that was too good to turn down. I’m really excited for the season ahead.
“It’s a really close-knit group here and everyone has been so lovely in welcoming me to the Club, so I’m really looking forward to what we can achieve going forward.”
Evans becomes the eighth new addition at West Ham United so far this summer. Despite manager Olli Harder having already been busy in the transfer window, the New Zealander could yet add to his squad further before the new season kicks-off next month.
