Brighton & Hove Albion trio Kayleigh Green, Aileen Whelan and Megan Connolly have all agreed contract extensions with the club according to reports on The Seagulls’ official website.
Whelan was one of just three ever-presents for Albion last season in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League while teammates Green and Connolly both featured regularly for the Sussex club.
It has today been confirmed that the trio have all opted to extend their contracts with the club. Green and Whelan have agreed new one-year deals while Connolly has extended her contract by a further year until summer 2023. The news comes fresh off the back of the announcement that Dutch midfielder Inessa Kaagman has agreed to remain with Albion for another year.
After Albion announced the trio of contract extensions, manager Hope Powell said “Aileen, Kayleigh and Megan give us so much ability as well as a lot of experience at this level.
“They are important members of the squad, both on the pitch and in the dressing room, and I know how much they are all looking forward to helping us try and improve on what we achieved last season.”
Albion begin the new Barclays FA Women’s Super League season with a home fixture against West Ham United at The Amex Stadium on Sunday 5 September.
