Chelsea teenager Jorja Fox has marked her 18th birthday by signing her first professional terms with the club according to reports on The Blues’ official website.
The teenager has come through Chelsea’s academy system to graduate into the fringes of the first team squad.
Fox was named in Chelsea’s matchday squad on six occasions in last season’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League. She made her debut from the bench in the 4-0 victory over Aston Villa at The Banks’s Stadium in January. The defender later impressed on her full debut against London City Lionesses in the fourth round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup in May.
The youngster has today signed a two-year professional deal with The Blues with the option of a further year. After signing her first senior contract at Kingsmeadow, Fox said ‘This is all I’ve ever wanted. It’s been the focus of my dreams and all I’ve been working for.
“Throughout the 10 years I’ve been at Chelsea, I’ve experienced ups and downs and I’ve sacrificed so much to achieve my goals.
“For all the hard work to now be recognised with a contract means the world and I can’t wait to continue my development at this club, amongst the best players and staff.”
Fox joins fellow academy graduates Emily Orman, Charlotte Wardlaw and Aggie Beever-Jones in signing senior terms with Chelsea this summer.
