PREVIEW: Manchester City v Chelsea

Manchester City and Chelsea will fight it out for a place at Wembley when they contest their Vitality Women’s FA Cup semi-final tie at The Academy Stadium on Sunday.

The last four Vitality Women’s FA Cup finals have been won by either Manchester City or Chelsea with The Cityzens bidding for a third consecutive tournament victory.

Manchester City go into the match without a number of players once again through injury. Ellie Roebuck, Karen Bardsley, Lucy Bronze, Steph Houghton, Esme Morgan and Chloe Kelly all remain sidelined while youngster Khiara Keating is also out meaning that an academy goalkeeper will fill a place on the bench. Head coach Gareth Taylor has confirmed that Alanna Kennedy and Ruby Mace are cup-tied but Hayley Raso and Vicky Losada are expected to return to the squad.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes has revealed that she has no new injury concerns to contend with following the international break. Defender Maren Mjelde and attacker Lauren James are back in full training but the pair are a couple of weeks away from getting minutes under their belts.

The Vitality Women’s FA Cup semi-final between Manchester City and Chelsea kicks-off at 12.45pm on Sunday afternoon and will be broadcast live on BBC One. Tickets for the match can be purchased by clicking here.
