Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall is expecting tonight’s opponents HB Køge to attempt to spring a surprise on his side.
The two sides are set to contest their fourth group fixture in this season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League at Meadow Park. HB Køge remain without a point after being defeated 5-1 by Arsenal in the reverse fixture in Denmark a week ago.
When speaking in his pre-match press conference, Arsenal boss Eidevall said that he is expecting to see something different from HB Køge after they learnt tough lessons in the game last week.
“I would imagine that they have learnt from the game,” Eidevall told FAWSL Full-Time. “They will have identified what worked well with their game plan and what didn’t work well and obviously, they will try to adjust.
“I think they will try to surprise us with something and we will have to be adaptable.”
Playing HB Køge twice in a short period of time means that Arsenal should know an awful lot about their opponents but Eidevall does not see that as an advantage or disadvantage.
The Arsenal boss said “I don’t really look at it from that perspective, it is what it is. You have the same players in the squad for availability and the game is so fresh in the memory as well.
“We were pretty successful with our game plan in the initial encounter so I think that the initiative to change something is on them, that is what we expect.”
The UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage match between Arsenal and HB Køge kicks-off at 8pm and will be available for fans to stream live on DAZN. Tickets remain on sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
