PREVIEW: Arsenal v Brighton & Hove Albion

Arsenal will be hoping to bounce back from their 4-0 UEFA Women’s Champions League defeat to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in midweek when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion at Meadow Park on Sunday.

The Gunners were far from at their best in Germany on Wednesday but they have a chance to move seven points clear at the top of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table on Sunday with title rivals Chelsea not in action.

Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall is unsure whether Manuela Zinsberger and Noelle Maritz will be fit for the Brighton & Hove Albion fixture after the pair were not part of the squad for the midweek UEFA Women’s Champions League match. Malin Gut, Leah Williamson and Tobin Heath all remain sidelined.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Hope Powell confirmed in her pre-match press conference that her squad are in good shape ahead of the weekend and they have not yet been affected by the latest COVID-19 outbreak. Dani Bowman is now fit following long term injury but forward Rinsola Babajide is again set to be missing.

The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion at Meadow Park kicks-off at 6.45pm on Sunday evening. Tickets for the match are available by clicking here.
