PREVIEW: Bridgwater United v Manchester United

Manchester United will be hoping to safely negotiate their way into the fifth round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup when they face third tier side Bridgwater United in the fourth round on Sunday.

Cup-fever has hit Bridgwater in recent weeks and Sunday’s game will see records broken with Fairfax Park set for a 2,500 sell-out for the very first time.

Bridgwater United go into the tie without the services of former Bristol City and London City Lionesses midfielder Poppy Wilson who is out until March. Recent signing Holly Chandler is cup-tied having played for Coventry United in the third round while loan signing Daisy Ackerman is also thought to be ineligible with the player having represented Oxford United in the competition before Christmas. Tia Asker is in contention after recently making her comeback from injury.

Manchester United travel to Somerset without centre-back Millie Turner who has a neck problem. Lucy Staniforth remains sidelined as she continues to nurse the knock which she sustained before Christmas. The game comes too soon for Kirsty Hanson but Martha Harris is fit and is available for selection.

The Vitality Women’s FA Cup fourth round tie between Bridgwater United and Manchester United is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm on Sunday. Fans without tickets should not attend as the game is completely sold out.
