The Barclays FA Women’s Super League leaders meet the second-placed team in the FA Women’s Championship when Arsenal face London City Lionesses in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup fourth round at the LV Bet Stadium on Sunday.
Arsenal returned to winning ways in midweek with a 2-1 home victory over Brighton & Hove Albion while London City Lionesses are proving to be incredibly difficult to beat in the FA Women’s Championship with Melissa Phillips’ side enjoying a fine season so far.
Following that Thursday night fixture against The Seagulls, Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall is not thought to have any new injury concerns to contend with. The Gunners continue to be without Lydia Williams, Steph Catley, Caitlin Foord and Mana Iwabuchi who away on international duty at the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022. Fran Stenson, Jen Beattie and Stina Blackstenius have been suffering from illness and it is unclear whether they will be fit to play. Katie McCabe is available for selection after serving her suspension.
London City Lionesses head coach Phillips is thought to have a fully fit squad to select from. Phillips has some tough decisions to make on team selection with last weekend’s match winner Kenni Thompson pushing for a start while the London City Lionesses boss must decide whether to go for a more physical approach in attack by bringing in Rianna Jarrett.
The Vitality Women’s FA Cup fourth round tie between Arsenal and London City Lionesses is scheduled to kick-off at 12.30pm on Sunday. Tickets remain available and can be purchased by clicking here.
