London City Lionesses have completed the signing of former Manchester City prospect Katie Kitching on a free transfer according to reports on The Pride’s official website.
The youngster has joined the Dartford-based club following a spell combining playing football with her studies in the United States.
Kitching has most recently represented the University of South Florida but she was previously on the books of Barclays FA Women’s Super League club Manchester City. She featured for The Cityzens at development squad level in the WSL Academy League.
After completing her move to Princes Park, Kitching said “It’s really exciting to have joined the London City Lionesses, I just can’t wait to get going.
“It’s a really professional environment and I’m really looking forward to getting to know the team and working with Mel and the rest of the coaching staff.”
Kitching could add another dimension to Melissa Phillips’ London City Lionesses side with the attacking midfielder boasting a keen eye for goal. The Pride are defensively resolute but they can always improve by having another quality attacking player in their ranks.
London City Lionesses’ latest signing could go straight into the squad for this weekend’s FA Women’s Championship fixture against Durham at Princes Park.
