Manchester United have announced the news that they will compete in the AMOS Women’s French Cup as part of their pre-season preparations.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Manchester United this evening.
The AMOS Women’s French Cup will see Manchester United come up against three of the best teams in the European game. The Red Devils will take on FC Barcelona, FC Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
The tournament will be staged at the Stade Ernest-Wallon in Toulouse. Fans will be permitted to attend the tournament matches at the 19,500-capacity stadium. The semi-finals take place on 16 August 2022 with the final scheduled for three days’ later. The new Barclays Women’s Super League season is set to kick-off on the weekend of 9-11 September 2022.
Speaking following the announcement, Manchester United boss Marc Skinner said “The AMOS Women’s French Cup is the perfect preparation for the important season ahead.
“The opportunity to face elite European opposition, in an excellent environment, will stand the team in great stead ahead of the start of our Women’s Super League campaign.
“The players and staff are really looking forward to travelling to Toulouse and performing in front of our French supporters.”
