Lewes have completed the signing of experienced Australian midfielder Libby Copus-Brown ahead of the new season.
The Rookettes announced the news this morning via a post on their official club website.
Copus-Brown moves overseas for the first time in her senior career. The midfielder started out with A-League club Newcastle Jets before spending time at Western Sydney Wanderers. The player has most recently turned out for NPL NSW side Newcastle Olympic.
After completing her move to The Dripping Pan, Copus-Brown said “I’m a typical midfielder. I work hard, love setting up goals and love being part of a dedicated team.
“That’s what Lewes is. We’re a team that won’t give up all the way to the end, and I think I can contribute to that. That’s how I am as a player.”
Lewes manager Scott Booth has now added six players to his squad this summer, those being Emily Kraft, Sophie Whitehouse, Amber-Keegan Stobbs, Nat Johnson, Emma Thompson and latest signing Copus-Brown. Additionally, Josie Longhurst signed a permanent deal with Lewes earlier this summer following a successful stint with the club in 2021/2022.
The Rookettes begin the season with a fixture against new manager Booth’s former club Birmingham City at St Andrew’s on Sunday.
