Brighton & Hove Albion and Reading will be aiming to collect their first points of the new season when they meet at The Amex Stadium on Sunday.
Both sides suffered heavy 4-0 defeats on opening weekend with Brighton & Hove Albion going down by that scoreline at Arsenal and Reading being subjected to the same punishment by Manchester United.
Brighton & Hove Albion manager Hope Powell was desperately short of senior players against The Gunners last weekend and she will face a similar challenge on Sunday. Rebekah Stott, Megan Connolly and Maisie Symonds are all out for the long term while forward Danielle Carter is not thought to be ready for a return. Defender Emma Kullberg is suspended as a result of her red card against Arsenal.
Like her opposite number, Reading boss Kelly Chambers is also having to deal with early season injuries. Forward Deanne Rose has been ruled out of action for a significant period with an Achilles injury while Faye Bryson, Brooke Hendrix, Becky Jane and Justine Vanhaevermaet were all notable absentees from the squad which took on Manchester United. Youngster Emma Harries continues to be sidelined as she recovers from a long term injury.
The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Brighton & Hove Albion and Reading kicks-off at 2pm on Sunday afternoon. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
