Leicester City goalkeeper Kirstie Levell believes that the club are closing in on their first positive results of the new season.
The Foxes have lost both of their opening two matches in this season’s Barclays Women’s Super League, although their performances have generally been good.
Leicester City will be hoping that it is a case of third time lucky when they travel to Walton Hall Park to face Everton this evening. Lydia Bedford’s side take on The Blue Girls in front of a sell-out crowd on Merseyside.
When speaking in the pre-match press conference, Leicester City goalkeeper Levell said that there is a real feeling that the club are closing in on some positive results.
“We have spoken a lot about getting points where we can,” Levell said. “We’ve definitely got a target within ourselves and it is about executing that and getting points from as many games as possible.
“We haven’t started the season as we wanted but the points are coming. We just want the fans to keep believing in us.”
Levell started her career with tonight’s opponents Everton and the keeper went on to give her thoughts ahead of her return to her former club.
She said “Everton is a great club and it has always believed in its academy graduates, which I was one of myself having been there for 10 years.
“Their new manager has come in and he is really trying to implement his style of football. He wants them to be direct and take shots when they can so for me, I need to be aware of that.”
Leicester City’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture at Everton kicks-off at 6.30pm.
