PREVIEW: Manchester United v Brighton & Hove Albion

Manchester United will hope to continue their impressive start to the new Barclays Women’s Super League season when Brighton & Hove Albion are the visitors to the Leigh Sports Village on Sunday.

The Red Devils have won both of their league matches so far against Reading and West Ham United. Marc Skinner’s side will be hopeful of mounting a greater push for European football this year, if not more. As for Brighton & Hove Albion, after losing their opening match of the new season at Arsenal, they bounced back and defeated Reading in their second league fixture before the international break.

Manchester United boss Skinner confirmed in his pre-match press conference that forward Alessia Russo will not be fit for this weekend’s game. Defender Aoife Mannion remains sidelined with her long term injury but forward Rachel Williams is making some good progress.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Hope Powell has revealed that her international players have returned to the club fit and well.  The Seagulls are still without long term absentees Maisie Symonds and Rebekah Stott while Megan Connolly is also expected to remain on the sidelines.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion kicks-off at 12pm on Sunday afternoon. Tickets for the match remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
