Southampton will be aiming to continue their rapid climb up the Barclays Women’s Championship table when struggling Coventry United provide the opposition at St Mary’s Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Saints are up to third place after going six matches unbeaten in the Barclays Women’s Championship while latest opponents Coventry United remain rooted to the bottom of the table and are still searching for their first points of the new season.
Southampton go into their latest match with no new injury concerns. Manager Marieanne Spacey-Cale is set to have a fully fit squad available other than attacker Sophia Pharaoh who is being carefully managed following a long term injury.
Coventry United were the last team to beat Southampton, The Red and Greens saw-off The Saints in the group stage of the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup a few weeks ago. Head coach Lee Burch is again likely to be without Evie Gane, Arabella Suttie, Katy Morris and Keeley Davies while loanee Esther Morgan is not yet fit enough to make her debut for the club.
